Blood Moon was commissioned by violinist and Director of Orchestras at Albion College, Dr. Ji Hyun Kim. 

The piece was inspired by the multiple blood moons in one year. It is an imaginary exploration of the wonder and horror an ancient civilization might have experienced at the sight of this event. It is meditative in nature, with an improvisatory feel.
